On 15th January 2020, Enock Mpianzi (13) drowned while on a Grade 8 orientation camp organized by Parktown Boys’ High School.

In the ensuing investigation, the parents won an out-of-court settlement for a civil lawsuit they filed in the amount of R20m. Read the full article here

However, the parents are not leaving the matter there. According to News 24, the boy's father said "that [civil settlement] will not give me back my son. What I want is justice - I want to see those who are guilty punished. That's what I am waiting for."

School principal fired

Update: Malcolm Williams reinstated. Education Labour Relations Council ordered Williams reinstated on same terms as before his dismissal
